Job title: Specialised Tutor

Location: Dublin 1 (Hybrid Working available)

Hours: 37.5 per week

Salary scale: €38,000 per annum

As a Specialist Tutor you will develop and deliver training in at least one of the following vocational subjects: Catering & Hospitality, Retail, Warehousing. You will provide each participant with the highest quality support to ensure they receive the training required for progression into employment. The post holder will develop individual training plans for participants in line with their desired progression route whilst promoting and participating in the delivery of training services and products.

Main Responsibilities

1. Work in collaboration with colleagues to ensure individual participant goals and aspirations are met.

2. Ensure integration of relevant learning technologies (ILT) in all teaching and learning and actively secure skills in use of relevant equipment.

3. Produce high quality resources, schemes of work and lesson plans whilst ensuring differentiation to suit the level of participant.

4. Provide effective ‘on the job’ coaching sessions to individuals or small groups to embed the practical learning elements of academy training.

5. Develop excellent relationships with partners and stakeholders, representing NOW Group at events by delivering presentations, participating in discussions and showcasing the work of the organisation.

Essential Criteria

1. Be a subject specialist in one of the following vocational areas: ICT, Business Admin, Retail, Cleaning, Warehousing, Catering & Hospitality.

2. Educated to Leaving Certificate level or above.

3. Minimum of one year’s paid experience of working with either:

• Participants with learning or intellectual disabilities/difficulties.
• Experience assisting individuals into work.
• Experience of liaising with employers.

4. Proven experience of working with Accreditation Bodies.

5. Excellent level of IT skills (including social media usage), communication skills and presentation skills.

Desirable Criteria

1. Hold Internal verifier/ moderator qualifications.

2. Experience of preparing courses for accreditation.

3. Certificate in Teaching or an equivalent training qualification.
