My client is a leading national food retailer with a global presence. They are looking for a talented Buyer to join their team, reporting directly to the Director of buying. Ideally, you will have 1 to 2 years of experience in FMCG buying (be that fashion or food) but if you have experience in other areas I would still love a chat with you.

As a Buyer, you’ll play a pivotal role. You’ll delve into market insights, conduct thorough competitor analyses, and manage supplier relationships to ensure our shelves are stocked with top-quality items at unbeatable prices.

What your day will look like:

  • Conducting regular competitor and assortment analyses
  • Collaborating with Quality Assurance for product quality checks
  • Spearheading new product development initiatives
  • Negotiating with suppliers to secure the best deals
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with departments like Social Media and Marketing
  • Setting and reviewing retail prices
  • Managing supplier contracts

What I am looking for in you:

  • Ideally you will have 1 to 2 years of experience in buying.
  • Be well versed in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Business or Food Science background preferred
  • Outstanding negotiation skills and enjoy doing this.
  • A valid driver’s license
