Staff Nurse – Dementia Village (Days & Nights)

About the Role

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Staff Nurses to join a unique community-based Dementia Village in Limerick. This innovative service provides person-centred care in a homely environment, supporting residents to live as independently and meaningfully as possible.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality nursing care while promoting dignity, respect, choice, and quality of life for residents living with dementia.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective, and person-centred nursing care to residents.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individual care plans.
• Administer medications and maintain accurate clinical records.
• Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, escalating concerns appropriately.
• Support residents with activities of daily living when required.
• Work collaboratively with healthcare assistants, carers, management, and allied health professionals.
• Promote a positive, homely, and therapeutic environment.
• Ensure compliance with HIQA standards, infection prevention and control measures, and best practice guidelines.
• Provide guidance and support to care staff during shifts.
• For PM/Night Shifts: Work closely alongside carers and healthcare assistants, providing hands-on support with resident care as required.

Requirements

• Registered General Nurse (RGN) with active NMBI registration.
• Previous experience working with older persons, dementia care, residential care, or community services desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Compassionate, resident-focused approach to care.
• Eligibility to work in Ireland.
