Job Title: Social Care Worker
Base: Bray, Co. Wicklow
Contract Type: Permanent and Relief Posts
Salary: €35,216 – €47,087 pro rata per annum.
Annual Leave: 31 days pro rata per annum (proportionate to service).
Orange Recruitment is sourcing on behalf of our client for the position of Social Care Worker to join a dedicated and innovative team providing respite and holiday breaks for children with physical disabilities in a community-based environment.
Overall Purpose of the Role:
To work as part of a team providing high-quality respite care for children with physical disabilities, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being while promoting independence and community participation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Adhere to the Code of Practice and Guidelines for Working with Children and Families.

Support children in accessing local resources and participating in community activities.

Empower children to make decisions about their lives and enhance their independence.

Develop and implement individual goal-oriented programs with the children, fostering their development.

Follow health and safety procedures to ensure the safety of children at all times.

Administer medication in line with the organization’s policies and contact medical professionals as needed.

Assist children with therapy programs as directed in a home setting.

Help maintain high standards of personal and dental hygiene among children, supporting skill retention in these areas.

Collaborate with therapy staff, teachers, and other professionals to support the children’s needs.

Use and maintain children’s equipment appropriately.

Actively participate in team meetings and maintain daily records of house activities.

Serve as a key worker for specific children, ensuring personalized care and attention.

Foster family connections and liaise with families as required.

Attend case conferences, IFSP meetings, and other relevant discussions.

Engage in external and in-service training as required, including supervision and personal development.

Plan and prepare balanced meals with children, encouraging their involvement in the process.

Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within the house, involving children in daily domestic activities where appropriate.

Maintain records and documentation while respecting confidentiality.

Drive the organization’s vehicles as needed, adhering to policies and procedures.

Comply with all relevant HIQA standards (SI 365-367).

Perform any other duties as assigned.
