Senior HR Learning & Development Expert

Location: Galway
Contract: 6-Month Assignment
Salary: 75,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Reporting to: Head of Human Resources

Role Purpose

Lead the development and implementation of a strategic Learning & Development Framework that supports organisational objectives, workforce capability, and a culture of continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a Learning & Development Framework and associated policies aligned with organisational strategy and values.
  • Work with senior leaders, managers, and employees to identify learning and development needs across the organisation.
  • Review current learning practices, organisational priorities, and best practice to inform framework design.
  • Establish governance, implementation, reporting, and evaluation processes to support delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Produce supporting policies, procedures, guidance materials, templates, and tools for organisation-wide implementation.
  • Support organisational development and change initiatives through effective learning and capability-building solutions.

Essential Requirements

  • NFQ Level 8 qualification (or equivalent) in HR, Organisational Development, Learning & Development, Education, Business, Psychology, or related discipline.
  • Significant senior-level experience in Learning & Development, Organisational Development, HR strategy, stakeholder engagement, and policy development.
  • Proven ability to translate business strategy into practical and measurable learning and capability initiatives.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, relationship-building, and influencing skills.
  • Experience leading strategic projects and delivering outcomes in complex organisational environments.

Desirable

  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Professional accreditation in HR, Learning & Development, or Organisational Development.
  • Recognised coaching qualification.
