Orange Recruitment are excited to announce an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior BIM Coordinator to join a growing project delivery team based in Dublin. This role will play a key part in the planning, coordination and management of BIM deliverables across a portfolio of complex mechanical and electrical building services projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading BIM coordination activities, supporting project teams throughout the project lifecycle, and ensuring all models, drawings and data outputs meet project and client requirements. This position would suit a proactive individual with strong technical expertise and a proven track record in multidisciplinary project coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead BIM coordination activities across multiple projects from design stage through to final handover.
- Develop, manage and maintain high-quality federated BIM models using Revit and associated software platforms.
- Coordinate mechanical, electrical and public health services within multidisciplinary project environments.
- Review design information and identify potential clashes, conflicts and constructability issues before installation.
- Generate and distribute coordination reports, highlighting actions and resolutions to project teams.
- Manage incoming consultant and subcontractor models, ensuring compliance with project BIM standards and protocols.
- Chair coordination workshops and provide technical guidance to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Support BIM execution planning and monitor project compliance with agreed BIM requirements.
- Produce detailed drawing packages, installation layouts, schedules and model-derived documentation.
- Oversee the creation and management of asset information, COBie data and digital handover information.
- Manage the development of as-installed models and record drawings throughout project delivery.
- Provide BIM support to tendering activities and pre-construction teams where required.
- Produce visualisations, presentations and model outputs to support client and project reporting.
- Assist junior BIM personnel through mentoring, training and technical support.
- Ensure all BIM activities are completed in line with company quality procedures, health and safety requirements, and project specifications.
- Incorporate laser scan and point cloud information into BIM workflows where necessary.
Skills & Experience Required:
- A minimum of five years’ experience in a BIM coordination role within the construction, engineering or building services sector.
- Strong proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrable experience leading MEP coordination on large-scale commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical or data centre projects.
- Thorough understanding of BIM processes, model management and digital project delivery.
- Experience managing clash detection and coordinating multidisciplinary design teams.
- Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage competing project priorities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to identify issues, develop solutions and drive coordination activities to completion.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative project environment.
- Mechanical or electrical trade qualifications, engineering qualifications or a related technical background would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of COBie, asset information delivery and digital handover requirements is desirable.
- Experience working with point cloud surveys and scan-to-BIM processes is beneficial.
