Respiratory Physiologist

Location: Cork

Salary: €45,000 – €50,000 DOE

Full-Time | Monday to Friday | 8:30am – 5:00pm (Occasional Saturdays)

We are currently seeking a Respiratory Physiologist to join a well-established Centre in Cork. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a friendly, supportive, and patient-focused service, working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering high-quality diagnostic care.

About the Role

The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of respiratory diagnostic services and will be responsible for performing, analysing, and reporting on a range of respiratory investigations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform a full range of Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs) autonomously.
• Produce preliminary reports and ensure accurate documentation of results.
• Troubleshoot equipment and resolve technical issues as required.
• Set up and score at-home sleep studies.
• Deliver a high standard of patient care and support throughout diagnostic procedures.
• Work collaboratively with clinicians and the wider multidisciplinary team.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to professional standards and best practice guidelines.

Essential Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• A Physiologist/Clinical Measurement Degree or equivalent qualification, or a Certificate in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement (MPPM) from Dublin Institute of Technology (or equivalent).
• 1-2 years’ post-qualification experience as a Respiratory Physiologist in a hospital setting.
• Proven experience performing and reporting independently on Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs).
• Experience setting up and scoring at-home sleep studies.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong awareness and sensitivity to patient needs.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to work autonomously and manage workload effectively.
• The ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and build strong internal and external relationships.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• A professional approach with a strong commitment to confidentiality and patient-centred care.
