Job title: Research Support Officer

Job type: Full time, 11 month contract.

Salary: €45,000-€50,000 pro rata per annum.

Job purpose: Supporting research activities carried out by the employment unit

Main responsibilities

  • Provide research assistance in projects, conduct in-house or undertake on behalf of the company, including data processing, drafting/preparation of literature reviews, general project assistance and dissemination of information as well as supporting organisation of research seminars, workshops and other meetings.
  • Gather and analyse data from various sources to support research on employment and labour markets.
  • Support maintenance and development of online resources, including contribution to the further development of their content quality, workflows, and user-friendliness; tasks include the quality control, checks for consistency/accuracy and editing of the restructuring data submitted by external sources.
  • Liaise with external factors, such as statistical service providers or contractors and in particular with the network of correspondents, as well as other colleagues.
  • Report to senior management and stakeholders as required.

Desired Academic background

A level of education which corresponds to completed university studies of at least three years attested by a diploma, desirably in economics, sociology, business management or related social sciences.

Desired Skills

Good general IT skills – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Filemaker.
Familiarity with the commonly used software packages such as NVivo, R, STATA, SPSS, Python; good numerical skills, ability to interpret statistical information and experience working with statistical software is an advantage.

Good editing, drafting, and communication skills in English, applying different formats.
Experience in conducting literature reviews and other forms of desk research (e.g. internet searches, screening of policy documents).

Attention to detail.
Interest in research topics related to employment and labour market developments.
