Orange Recruitment have partnered with one of Ireland’s most respected construction companies who are seeking a highly capable and commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team in County Kerry.This is a key role in a well-established business known for delivering high-quality residential, commercial, and civil engineering projects. You’ll be working across major developments, providing commercial leadership and driving financial performance from pre-construction through to final account.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the full commercial management of large-scale construction projects, ensuring cost-effective delivery and contract compliance
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections
  • Oversee tendering processes, subcontractor procurement, and contract negotiation
  • Monitor and report on project progress, variations, valuations, and claims
  • Provide strategic input on risk management, value engineering, and cost control measures
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and project teams to maintain strong relationships and clear communication
  • Mentor and guide junior QS staff, supporting professional development and knowledge sharing
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant legal, contractual, and regulatory requirements

Requirements:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 4+ years’ experience in a QS role, with at least 2 years in a senior capacity
  • Proven background in delivering medium to large-scale projects, ideally in the Irish market
  • Strong understanding of contracts (e.g. RIAI, Public Works, FIDIC, NEC)
  • Excellent commercial awareness, negotiation, and analytical skills
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities
  • Proficiency in relevant software (e.g. Buildsoft, Cubit, Excel, CostX)
