Clinical Nurse Specialist or Candidate CNS Urology

Leading Private Hospital Dublin South

Full time Permanent

The role requires a nurse who can demonstrate excellent clinical skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Working closely with Consultants, nursing teams, GPs, and multidisciplinary colleagues, the successful candidate will contribute to the ongoing development of specialist urology services while acting as a role model for excellence in patient care.

The successful candidate will:

• Deliver specialist nursing care to patients with urological conditions and cancers.
• Undertake comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualised care plans.
• Coordinate investigations, treatments, and follow-up care.
• Manage and contribute to nurse-led urology clinics.
• Monitor patient outcomes and collaborate with Consultants to optimise treatment plans.
• Provide education, advice, counselling, and support to patients and their families.
• Promote patient self-management and health promotion initiatives.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews and complex case management.
• Develop and support evidence-based policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines relating to urology care.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives and contribute to service development.
• Act as a patient advocate, ensuring informed decision-making and the highest standards of dignity, privacy, and respect.

Essential Criteria

• Be registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses maintained by NMBI.
• Possess a minimum of five years’ recent post-registration nursing experience (full-time or equivalent) in an acute hospital setting.
• Have at least two years’ experience in the specialist area of urology disease and/or urology cancer care.
• Hold a Level 8 QQI/NFQ major academic award relevant to Urology Nursing or a related specialty, or be willing to complete this qualification within one year of appointment.
