Orange Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a busy and expanding electrical services provider seeking an experienced Domestic Electrician to join their team. Working primarily in occupied and vacant residential properties, you’ll be responsible for a broad range of electrical work including fault diagnosis, repairs, upgrades, testing, and installations. This role is well suited to an electrician who enjoys working directly with homeowners, takes pride in their workmanship, and can confidently manage a varied workload while delivering a first-class service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out electrical repairs, maintenance, and installation work in domestic properties.
- Diagnose and rectify faults in wiring, circuits, consumer units, lighting, and power systems.
- Complete electrical inspections, testing, and certification in line with current regulations.
- Undertake full and partial house rewires, renovations, and upgrade projects.
- Install and replace sockets, switches, lighting systems, extractor fans, smoke alarms, and consumer units.
- Respond to electrical breakdowns and urgent call-outs, resolving issues efficiently and safely.
- Advise homeowners on repairs, safety improvements, and energy-efficient solutions.
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in compliance with current electrical standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including inspection reports and certification records.
- Plan and manage daily jobs effectively while maintaining excellent customer service.
Requirements:
- Qualified Electrician with a recognised electrical trade qualification.
- Qualified Certifier status required.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience following qualification.
- Strong background in domestic electrical installations and maintenance.
- Proven experience with fault-finding, testing, inspection, and certification.
- Thorough understanding of current electrical regulations and safe working practices.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple service calls.
- Strong communication skills and a professional approach when dealing with homeowners.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Full clean driving licence preferred.
