Job description

Orange Recruitment is currently working with a well-established property services provider seeking an experienced Property Maintenance Electrician to support a busy portfolio of residential, commercial, and mixed-use properties. This position offers plenty of variety, with no two days the same. You’ll be involved in everything from routine maintenance and electrical upgrades to inspections, testing, fault diagnosis, and emergency response work. The role would suit someone who enjoys working directly with customers, solving problems on-site, and taking ownership of jobs from start to finish.

The successful candidate will be trusted to work independently, make informed decisions in the field, and deliver a professional service while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out electrical repairs, maintenance works, and installations across a range of occupied and vacant properties.
  • Investigate electrical issues and identify practical solutions in a timely manner.
  • Complete preventative maintenance works to minimise equipment failures and future breakdowns.
  • Undertake inspection, testing, and certification activities in accordance with current regulations.
  • Perform partial and complete rewiring projects when required.
  • Attend urgent breakdowns and reactive maintenance callouts, ensuring issues are resolved quickly and effectively.
  • Work closely with property managers, residents, tenants, and commercial clients while maintaining a professional approach at all times.
  • Manage daily workloads efficiently and ensure jobs are completed within agreed timelines.
  • Record completed works, inspection results, certificates, and service reports accurately using company systems.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with electrical regulations and company health and safety procedures.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for system improvements, upgrades, and energy-efficient solutions.

Candidate Profile:

  • Qualified Electrician with recognised trade qualifications.
  • Qualified Certifier status is essential.
  • Minimum 4 years of post-apprenticeship experience.
  • Previous experience working within property maintenance, facilities management, housing maintenance, or commercial buildings would be highly advantageous.
  • Solid background in testing, inspection, fault-finding, repairs, maintenance, and rewiring.
  • Excellent understanding of current electrical standards, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple jobs throughout the day.
  • Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
  • Organised, reliable, and committed to delivering high-quality workmanship.
  • Full driving licence preferred.

What’s in It for You?

  • Join an established organisation with a strong reputation in the property services sector.
  • Enjoy a varied workload across residential, commercial, and mixed-use buildings.
  • Secure long-term employment with a steady pipeline of work.
  • Opportunity to apply both your technical expertise and problem-solving abilities.
  • Supportive management team and positive working environment.
  • Ongoing training and opportunities for career advancement.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.

This role represents an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrician looking to move away from repetitive site work and into a position offering greater variety, autonomy, and long-term career stability. You’ll play an important role in maintaining safe, compliant, and well-functioning properties while building lasting relationships with clients and occupants alike.
