Orange Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced HVAC & Refrigeration Engineerto take ownership of the maintenance and performance of critical building services equipment at a prestigious client site in Dublin. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer who enjoys working in a technically challenging environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality maintenance, fault-finding and optimisation of refrigeration, air conditioning and mechanical plant systems.

Working as the primary HVAC specialist on site, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency and compliance of essential systems while building strong relationships with stakeholders and site management teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the day-to-day maintenance of refrigeration and HVAC systems across the site.
  • Conduct regular inspections and operational checks to ensure plant reliability and compliance.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities in line with maintenance schedules.
  • Diagnose equipment faults and implement effective repair solutions.
  • Service and maintain a variety of HVAC equipment, including:
    • Air conditioning systems
    • Heat pumps
    • VRF/VRV systems
    • Fan coil units
    • Chillers
    • Associated controls and mechanical plant
  • Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests and emergency breakdowns.
  • Assist with equipment upgrades, replacements and commissioning projects.
  • Work closely with site management and facility stakeholders to ensure service excellence.
  • Maintain accurate service documentation, maintenance records and compliance reports.
  • Monitor plant condition and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with current regulations, safety standards and industry best practice.
  • Maintain tools, plant rooms and work areas to a high professional standard.
  • Support stock management and identify requirements for replacement parts and consumables.
  • Participate in an on-call rota when required.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualification in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience maintaining commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of site responsibilities.
  • Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
  • Good understanding of health, safety and compliance requirements.
  • Full eligibility to work in Ireland.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • F-Gas Certification.
  • Experience working within commercial buildings, healthcare, pharmaceutical, industrial or data centre environments.
  • Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification.
  • Experience using digital maintenance management systems or CMMS platforms.

Working Hours:

  • Full-time permanent position.
  • Monday to Friday schedule.
  • Participation in an on-call rota as part of the engineering team.
