Orange Recruitment has partnered with a well-established building and civil engineering contractor who is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee a range of passive fire protection and construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional with a strong track record in project delivery, client management, health & safety compliance, and commercial awareness. The successful candidate will take ownership of projects from commencement through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, to specification, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple projects, ensuring compliance with programme, quality standards, and financial targets.
  • Develop and manage project programmes and site quality plans.
  • Support and oversee Site Managers, ensuring company procedures and quality standards are implemented effectively.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Attend client, design team, and site meetings, ensuring actions are followed through and communicated to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage project documentation, including progress reports, RFIs, CVIs, programmes, and contract correspondence.
  • Issue formal notifications relating to project delays, extensions of time, and subcontractor performance issues.
  • Coordinate closely with design teams to ensure all required information, drawings, and specifications are available on site.
  • Coordinate procurement activities to ensure materials and subcontractors are available when required.
  • Manage labour and resources across projects to maximise efficiency and productivity.
  • Lead post-contract handover meetings and ensure all project procedures are implemented effectively.
  • Work closely with commercial teams to monitor budgets, subcontractor performance, and project costs.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, design teams, and subcontractors.
  • Act as the main point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Chair progress meetings and provide regular project updates.
  • Ensure work is carried out with minimal disruption to surrounding communities and building occupants.
  • Champion a positive safety culture and drive the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance across all projects.
  • Conduct site inspections and audits, ensuring corrective actions are implemented where required.
  • Ensure compliance with company Integrated Management Systems and all relevant legislation.
  • Promote best practice in quality management and ensure projects are delivered in accordance with company and industry standards.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a Project Manager role within construction, specialist contracting, or fit-out environments.
  • Essential experience in Passive Fire Protection, including fire stopping, compartmentation, fire doors, penetration sealing, and associated compliance requirements.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, project planning, programming, and subcontractor management.
  • Experience managing commercial budgets and project costs.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
