Financial Planning Analyst – Cost Accountant

Location: Co. Louth

Job Type: Full-time | Onsite

Salary: 75,000 – 85,000 DOE

A leading manufacturing business based in County Louth is seeking a Financial Planning Analyst / Cost Accountant to join their dynamic finance team. Renowned for its commitment to innovation and quality, the company is looking for a commercially minded finance professional to take ownership of product costing and gross margin analysis. This role will focus on identifying cost-saving opportunities, analysing product costs across sites, and delivering insights that support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.

Key Area of Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with the Managing Director, Finance Director and business Leadership. Providing operations support on a day-to-day basis.
  • Driving decision making through financial analysis on capital investments and cost savings. Working closely with the Managing Director and factory manager to identify continuous improvement and cost saving initiatives.
  • Communicate performance across all tiers, from shareholders to factory management. This includes updating and presenting non-financial KPIs; Drive and Improve KPI reporting to provide better Analysis to Management and to drive improvements in Factory Operations.
  • Analysis and reporting of plant manufacturing performance and efficiency and develop and implement a detailed Line and Product Efficiency Model
  • Drive absolute clarity on Bill of Materials by Stock keeping unit
  • Manage gross margin analysis
  • Work with the Financial Director and Commercial Director to develop and manage a robust new product launch costings tool.
  • Provide weekly and Monthly GM Reports and suggestions for improvements to GM
  • Reconcile GM between P&L and Commercial

Key Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • 3+ years’ experience in a financial planning, accounting, or manufacturing cost accounting role.
  • Experience in manufacturing
  • Demonstrated ability in system assessment and implementation.
  • Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, simulations, databases).
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills.
  • High attention to detail with excellent organisational and communication skills.
