Orange Recruitment are seeking a Day Centre Manager for a 10 month contract. This Manager is responsible for overseeing both managerial and administrative functions, ensuring the effective delivery of integrated services for older people. This role involves staff supervision, financial management, client care, risk management, and compliance with relevant policies and regulations.

Eligibility Criteria
Qualifications and/or Experience
- Have satisfactory experience in a statutory health agencies, or a body that provides services on behalf of the HSE under Section 38 of the Health Act 2004.
- Hold a comparable and relevant third-level qualification of at least level 6 on the National Qualifications Framework maintained by Qualifications and Quality Ireland (QQI).
Other Requirements Specific to the Post
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the delivery of day care services in an older persons, disabilities, or mental health setting.
- A third-level qualification is desirable.
- Experience working with a multi-disciplinary team or multi-agency environment, including engagement with service users and key stakeholders.
- Experience in developing social initiatives.
- Sound knowledge of best practices in the care of older persons.
- Excellent organisational and management skills.
- Strong team-building and leadership skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated empathy and aptitude for working with older persons.
- Flexibility in duties and hours of work.
- Proficiency in IT skills, including social media usage and work packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and others.
- Access to appropriate transport to fulfil the requirements of the role.
Key Responsibilities
General Administrative Duties
- Collaborate with the Public Health Nursing Department, Health and Social Care Professionals, and other relevant organizations to provide integrated services for older people.
- Plan and coordinate activity programmes for older persons attending the Centre.
- Oversee and facilitate the services provided at the Centre.
- Ensure GDPR compliance in handling personal and sensitive data.
- Supervise and manage staff at the Centre.
- Develop, coordinate, and implement management information systems.
- Recruit new staff in accordance with the HSE’s Recruitment and Retention Policy.
- Maintain accurate records of staff leave, including annual, sick, and special leave.
- Consult with the Manager of Services for Older Persons and the HR Officer on staffing matters.
- Maintain ongoing communication with Service Managers regarding service development and provision.
Client Care
- Deliver person-centred care and emotional support to clients and their families.
- Assess client needs and facilitate referrals to appropriate health and social care services.
- Advocate on behalf of clients with statutory and voluntary health and social care agencies.
- Liaise with the safeguarding team to ensure client welfare.
- Promote positive ageing through health promotion programmes.
Health and Safety
- Collaborate with the Quality, Safety, and Service Improvement Department to develop and review site-specific safety statements.
- Ensure all staff are familiar with the Safety Statement and policy documents.
- Oversee security arrangements and equipment maintenance at the Centre.
- Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager to ensure facility upkeep and tendering of external contracts within budget.
Financial Management
- Manage the Centre’s budget and monitor expenditure.
- Ensure adherence to financial regulations.
- Approve and authorize purchases and payments within the Centre’s remit.
- Oversee the receipt and lodgement of monies in line with policies.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of payroll and expense documentation.
Human Resource and Employee Relations
- Supervise and manage daily staff operations.
- Monitor and manage absenteeism and time-keeping.
- Participate in and facilitate staff personal development planning.
- Maintain staff records, write reports, and ensure accurate file maintenance.
- Implement disciplinary procedures when necessary.
- Maintain positive employee relations and communication within the Centre.
- Oversee student and work experience placements.
- Consult with the HR Officer on industrial relations issues.
- Ensure compliance with SAP HR system requirements.
- Manage employee relations within a partnership framework.
