Orange Recruitment are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter looking to join a forward-thinking energy management company. They are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to play a key role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems across industrial and commercial sites. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Fitter to work in a dynamic environment, contributing to energy efficiency and sustainable operation.
Responsibilities
- Carry out inspections, maintenance, and repairs on mechanical systems while ensuring all tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
- Oversee and perform alignment, balancing, and leveling of pumps, fans, and other rotating equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
- Conduct welding and fabrication tasks, including the repair and installation of piping and steel structures.
- Implement preventative maintenance programs to maximize the reliability and lifespan of mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults, keeping detailed maintenance records for reporting to the Maintenance Manager.
- Assist in training team members, sharing expertise in electrical and mechanical systems to enhance overall team capability.
- Take an active role in plant shutdown operations, including dismantling, inspecting, and reassembling critical equipment.
- Be available for on-call duties and overtime when required to support plant operations.
- Provide support to warehouse and operations teams when needed, ensuring seamless workflow.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, following all company safety protocols and procedures.
- Engage in on-site safety and quality initiatives, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Work towards achieving Lead Mechanic qualifications, expanding your expertise and career opportunities.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Manager to support operational efficiency.
Experience
- Relevant qualification in Mechanical Fitting or Engineering.
- Strong experience in mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment repair.
- Proficiency in welding, pipework installation, and fabrication.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems is an advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to health, safety, and quality standards.
- Flexibility for on-call shifts and overtime when required.
