Location: Dublin, Ireland
Salary: Circa 85,000 + benefits

Orange Recruitment is partnering with a global leader in data centre cooling and mission-critical HVAC solutions to appoint an experienced Technical Support & Training Manager. This is a senior technical leadership role based in Dublin, supporting a worldwide product portfolio from a highly advanced manufacturing and engineering organisation.

The Role

The Technical Support & Training Manager will lead the technical support and technical training functions, managing a team of engineers while acting as a senior technical authority across the business. You will work closely with engineering, R&D, QAQC, service, and project teams to ensure best-in-class technical support, commissioning delivery, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support & Leadership

  • Lead all internal and external product and technical support activities.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of technical support engineers.
  • Provide advanced technical support on mission-critical HVAC equipment.
  • Lead troubleshooting and diagnosis of complex technical issues including refrigeration circuits, control systems, and communications.
  • Act as escalation point for critical technical support cases and coordinate with internal subject matter experts.
  • Support commissioning, performance verification, and warranty investigations.
  • Ensure support requests are resolved within agreed KPIs and service levels.
  • Prepare management reports and recommendations based on technical data and service trends.

Training & Knowledge Development

  • Develop and maintain a robust technical training strategy aligned with business needs.
  • Design and deliver structured training programmes including classroom, online, and factory-based workshops.
  • Create and deliver technical training for internal staff, service partners, and customers.
  • Develop service documentation, technical bulletins, manuals, troubleshooting guides, and control system documentation.
  • Collaborate with the EMEA digital team to develop scalable, self-service digital training solutions.
  • Manage training facilities, demonstration rigs, and software simulation tools.
  • Coordinate technical knowledge sharing across EMEA data centre teams.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Provide customer and field feedback to support product development and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with QAQC teams to investigate and resolve quality issues.
  • Support project managers with project-related commissioning activities where required.
  • Identify maintenance and service opportunities with new and existing customers.
  • Mentor field service engineers, new hires, and apprentices, contributing to long-term capability development.

Candidate Profile

  • Strong technical background in HVAC, mission-critical cooling, or data centre technologies.
  • Proven experience leading technical support teams and delivering technical training.
  • In-depth knowledge of refrigeration systems, control systems, and industrial communications.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to train, mentor, and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Customer-focused with a high standard of professionalism and accountability.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, global engineering environment.
