Special Care Workers – Children’s Residential Services

Location: Portrane, Dublin North

Salary: €40,351 – €68,169 per annum

Contract: Permanent / Full-Time

Join a child-centred, professional team providing high-quality care within Special Care Units in Co. Dublin. As a Social Care Worker, you will support children and young people through structured routines, therapeutic interventions, and consistent emotional support-helping them grow, stabilise, and move toward greater independence.

Orange Recruitment is seeking Social Care Workers with 18+ months’ experience and who are either CORU registered or eligible. If you are unsure of your CORU pathway, we offer full guidance and support.

Key Responsibilities

Create a safe, supportive environment for children and young people

Implement Care and Placement Plans

Support daily routines (education, appointments, meals, activities)

Engage in therapeutic and age-appropriate interventions

Liaise with families and professionals

Maintain accurate reports and documentation

Participate in team meetings and supervision

Respond appropriately to challenging behaviours using approved interventions

Requirements

Level 7 degree in Social Care or related field

Experience working with children in residential, special care, or alternative care

Eligible to work in Ireland

CORU registered or in process

Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and trauma-informed practice
