Special Care Workers required for Special Care Units North Dublin and Lucan Co Dublin
Location: Dublin
Incremental Salary Scale : €37,055 – €68,169 per annum
Contract: Permanent / Full-Time
Providing short-term, therapeutic, and stabilizing care to young people (typically aged 11–17) who are at risk and in need of a secure and supportive environment.
These Special Care Units differ from general residential care in several key ways:
- They are secure and therapeutic
- They offer higher staff-to-young-person ratios, often with on-site education and psychological input.
- Placement is for the youth‘s safety and welfare
Safety Pods Initiative
A standout innovation is their adoption of Safety Pods used during instances to provide safety and dignity.
- Over a six-month pilot:
- Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive – young people described the pods as “safer,” “more comfortable,” and “more child-friendly“
What you need:
- Level 7 qualification in Social Care or a related discipline
- Experience working with children
- Eligible to work in Ireland
- Knowledge of child protection, safeguarding, and trauma-informed care
- CORU registered or in process application
