Social Care Worker Autism Support Specialist

Social Care Worker salary scale; point 1; 39,951 point 12; 56,089 per annum (HSE Incremental Pay Scale)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality, individualised support to adults with ASD, empowering them to live with dignity, independence, and choice
  • Support adults with Autism in daily living, community participation, and personal development
  • Implement tailored support plans that meet communication, sensory, and behavioural needs
  • Foster a safe, secure environment that encourages growth and reduces anxiety
  • Work collaboratively with families, allied professionals, and care teams
  • Uphold best practice in safeguarding and rights-based care

Essential Qualifications & Requirements

  • Authorised to work in Ireland
  • CORU Registered or in process of registration
  • Social Care Worker – Approved Qualifications – Approved by the Social Care Workers Registration Board
  • A qualification received outside the State recognised by NARIC as equivalent to the Irish Level 7 award
  • Fluent English required
  • Experience in Positive Behaviour Support or similar approaches
  • Proven experience supporting adults with Autism or neurodevelopmental conditions
  • Strong communication skills, including the use of autism-friendly supports (e.g., visual aids, social stories)

  • Premium Payments – Saturday Rates, Double time on Sunday, Unsocial pay rates applicable
  • Permanent Full time and part time roles
  • 39 Hours per week based on a roster system; Day and Night duty cover
