Social Care Assistant

Social Care Assistant urgently required for Residential Services Co Kildare

Social Care Assistant salary scale; point 1; 30,272 – €37,483 per annum

Must be authorised to work in Ireland.

Responsibilities

  • Uphold and respect the human, legal and constitutional rights of each person who uses the service,
  • Facilitate, encourage and develop the choice and decision-making skills of people who use the services.
  • Ensure a person centred approach to service delivery
  • Assist with fostering, encouraging and developing each individual supported by the services’ self-care skills, particularly in relation to personal hygiene, health matters and care for their personal appearance.

Essential Qualifications & Requirements

  • Authorised to work in Ireland
  • Full 8 modules Level 5 QQI in Social Care / Healthcare OR Nursing.
  • Fluent English required
  • Candidates must have 1 years’ experience of working with vulnerable adults or adults with intellectual disabilities
  • An ability to follow, evaluate and contribute to the further development of plans and methods to meet the ongoing needs of individuals supported.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Proficient IT skills relevant to the role, to include Microsoft Office Excel, Word, SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams.
  • A full driver’s licence and availability of own car is an essential requirement.
  • Knowledge of HIQA Regulations and Standards and the relevant regulative framework
  • An understanding of the New Directions model of day support services, as developed by the HSE. A willingness to work in promoting this model within your role
