Quantity Surveyor North West

Orange Recruitment are sourcing a Quantity Surveyor with a well established contractor based in the North West. Our client, a leading name in the Irish construction industry, is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to take the commercial lead on a range of exciting projects in the region.

This is a key strategic role within a dynamic and growing business ideal for someone who enjoys ownership, client interaction, and leading commercial functions across all project stages.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation and management of tender submissions and cost plans
• Conducting feasibility studies and cost estimates
• Subcontractor procurement strategy and coordination
• Risk assessment and mitigation input at early stages
• Full commercial management from commencement through to final account
• Monitoring project budgets and reporting on cost variances
• Contract administration, including change control, claims and variations
• Site valuations, interim applications, and agreement of final accounts
• Managing subcontractor accounts and payment certification
• Mentoring and supporting junior surveyors
• Representing the company in client meetings and project reviews
• Working closely with project managers and site teams to ensure commercial alignment

Requirements:

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent (Chartered status a plus)
• Minimum 6 years of QS experience in a main contractor or large subcontractor environment
• Sound knowledge of Irish building contracts (RIAI, GCCC, etc.)
• Strong commercial acumen and cost control skills
• Proficient in measurement, BoQ production, and cost reporting tools (Excel, Cubit, etc.)
• Full clean driving licence (travel to regional sites required)
