Orange Recruitment are partnering with a leading Engineering contractor renowned for delivering large-scale projects in Life Sciences, Data Centres, and Semiconductor facilities, and they are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join their expert team. In this key leadership role, you’ll oversee multidisciplinary teams, manage full project lifecycles, and deliver engineering excellence safely, on time, and within budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Take full ownership of project delivery, from initiation and detailed planning through to execution, handover, and final account closeout.
  • Lead coordination across internal design, BIM, QA/QC, procurement, and engineering functions to ensure alignment with client expectations and technical requirements.
  • Utilise company specific project systems to monitor progress, identify risk, and ensure team wide compliance across safety, quality, and commercial controls.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, liaising with site teams to proactively identify and resolve operational or technical challenges.
  • Build and maintain high-trust relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and vendors managing contract negotiations where necessary.
  • Monitor and control project budgets, implement cost tracking systems, and ensure robust forecasting and reporting to senior leadership.
  • Uphold strict adherence to H&S legislation, industry standards, and internal protocols throughout all project phases.
  • Produce weekly updates for stakeholders and detailed monthly progress reports for Directors and Senior Management.
  • Collaborate closely with company leadership to identify strategic opportunities, mitigate risks, and drive operational improvement.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Project or Contracts Manager with prior hands-on experience as a Mechanical Project Engineer.
  • Demonstrated success delivering complex MEP packages, ideally on large-scale projects within Life Sciences, Data Centres, or Semiconductor environments.
  • In-depth understanding of HVAC, mechanical and process systems, including design coordination and construction management.
  • Confident managing high-performing teams, multiple subcontractors, and multi-million euro project budgets.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with experience producing accurate forecasts, managing risk, and reporting to executive stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally across Europe as project needs dictate.
  • A full, clean driving licence.
