Orange Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to join our clients team in Cork. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated health and safety professional to take ownership of EHS performance within a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

This is a highly visible, client-facing position requiring a confident communicator who can build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels while ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, environmental, and quality compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of EHS policies, procedures, and management systems.
  • Ensure compliance with Irish health, safety, environmental, and quality legislation and standards.
  • Act as the primary EHS contact for client representatives, site management, and operational teams.
  • Maintain and continuously improve management systems aligned with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Coordinate internal audits and support external certification audits.
  • Develop and review risk assessments, safety statements, method statements, and environmental documentation.
  • Monitor site activities to ensure effective risk controls are in place and operating effectively.
  • Manage contractor safety programmes, including onboarding, compliance monitoring, and performance reviews.
  • Lead incident investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Deliver EHS training programmes and support the development of a positive safety culture.
  • Prepare detailed reports and performance metrics for clients and senior management.
  • Support emergency preparedness planning and business continuity initiatives.

About You:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a senior EHS or EHS management role.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish EHS legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working within pharmaceutical, life sciences, manufacturing, or other highly regulated environments.
  • Proven experience managing ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 systems.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong client-facing experience with the ability to build trusted relationships.
  • Experience delivering EHS training and promoting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel to sites when required.

Desirable Experience:

  • Facilities Management sector experience.
  • Internal or external auditing experience.
  • Manual Handling Instructor or Assessor certification.
  • Experience supporting construction or project-related activities.
