Orange Recruitment has partnered with well-established Pharma operation who is currently seeking an experienced Maintenance & Engineering Manager to lead site maintenance activities across a busy production environment.

This is a senior leadership role suited to someone who enjoys driving reliability, improving operational performance and leading technical teams within a fast-paced industrial or manufacturing setting. The successful candidate will take ownership of maintenance strategy, equipment performance and engineering support functions while helping ensure the site operates safely, efficiently and with minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing day-to-day maintenance operations across production equipment and site services
  • Developing and implementing preventative and predictive maintenance programmes
  • Leading and supporting a team of maintenance technicians and engineering personnel
  • Planning maintenance schedules to minimise downtime and maximise operational efficiency
  • Supporting fault-finding, breakdown response and root cause analysis activities
  • Monitoring equipment performance and identifying opportunities for reliability improvements
  • Managing maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory and supplier relationships
  • Coordinating contractors and external service providers where required
  • Ensuring all maintenance activities comply with health & safety and operational standards
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records and supporting CMMS system management
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and maintenance operations
  • Reporting on maintenance performance, downtime trends and operational improvements to senior leadership teams

Ideal Background:

  • Previous experience in a Maintenance Manager, Engineering Manager or similar leadership role
  • Strong background within manufacturing, industrial, production or processing environments
  • Experience managing maintenance teams and coordinating technical projects
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Experience with preventative maintenance systems and CMMS platforms
  • Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving capability
  • Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
  • Engineering qualification or relevant trade/technical background advantageous
  • Experience driving operational improvements and equipment reliability initiatives
