Deputy Social Care Manager – Children’s Disability & Mainstream Residential Services

Location: Wexford

Contract: Full-Time / Permanent

As Deputy Social Care Manager, you’ll help lead a service that makes a real difference, supporting the Person in Charge and guiding your team to uphold the highest standards of care and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Person in Charge (PIC) in managing daily operations of a designated centre.
  • Supervise and mentor staff, promoting reflective practice and accountability.
  • Ensure compliance with HIQA, the Health Act 2007, and all relevant legislation.
  • Champion person-centred planning, dignity, and inclusion.
  • Contribute to audits, inspections, and quality improvement.
  • Deputise for the PIC when required, ensuring a safe and positive environment.

Essential

  • Level 7 or higher qualification in Applied Social Care (CORU-approved) or related field (Social Work, Psychology, Youth & Community Work, Nursing).
  • Three years’ post-qualification experience in disability or social care, including some supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of HIQA Standards, Children First Act 2015, Disability Act 2005, and GDPR.
  • A Nursing qualification with relevant experience and a management qualification (30 ECTS Level 6+) may also be considered.
  • Full, clean driving licence.

Desirable

  • Experience in both disability and mainstream residential settings.
  • Training in MAPA/PMAV/TCl or relevant behaviour management approaches.
  • Experience writing and reviewing care plans, risk assessments, and reports.
  • Trauma-informed practice training or equivalent.
