Job Title: Clerical Officer

Location: Tallaght Area
Contract: Full-time, Temporary (Until December 2025, with potential for extension)
Start Date: Immediate

Overview:
Our client is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Clerical Officer to join their team in the Tallaght Area. This is a full-time temporary position running until the end of December 2025, with the possibility of extension based on performance and business needs.

The successful candidate will support the Procurement Section, providing essential administrative and clerical services to ensure smooth and efficient departmental operations. The role requires flexibility, as responsibilities may evolve with the organisations needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide general administrative and clerical support to the Procurement Section.
  • Maintain and update filing, record-keeping, and administrative systems.
  • Process departmental documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, and support data entry tasks.
  • Liaise professionally with internal teams and the public via phone, email, and in person.
  • Flag any operational issues or backlogs to the Line Manager.
  • Attend and contribute to regular team meetings.
  • Participate in project teams focused on service improvement.
  • Carry out any other relevant duties assigned within the grade.

Essential Requirements:

  • Relevant clerical/administrative experience (public sector experience is an advantage).
  • Knowledge and/or experience of EU and national procurement rules and tendering processes.
  • Minimum of five subjects at Grade D3 or higher in the Leaving Certificate, or equivalent (QQI Level 4/5).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Professional, courteous telephone manner.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
