CAD Technician

Job description

Orange recruitment are currently recruiting a skilled CAD Technician for our Dublin based client, to take ownership of technical drawings for premium residential and commercial projects. This position involves close collaboration with internal design, joinery, manufacturing, and project delivery teams to translate creative concepts into accurate, build-ready documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed technical and production drawings to support manufacturing and installation.
• Apply strong technical design knowledge with a particular focus on bespoke cabinetry.
• Prepare accurate drafting packages suitable for workshop and on-site use.
• Create kitchen and cabinetry layouts using CAD-based design software.
• Ensure drawings meet project specifications, manufacturing requirements, and quality standards.

Requirements:

• At least three years’ experience working in CAD-based cabinetry or joinery design.
• High level of competence using CAD software within a production environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across teams.
• Capable of working independently while contributing positively to collaborative projects.
• Excellent attention to detail with a practical, solutions-focused mindset.
• Proven ability to manage multiple drawing packages and deadlines concurrently.
• Experience using Cabinet Vision is a distinct advantage.
• Background in furniture, joinery, or production design across residential and commercial sectors.
• Demonstrated ability to produce precise 2D setting-out and manufacturing drawings.
• In-depth understanding of cabinetry construction methods and materials to support accurate production documentation.
