Orange Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Automotive Technician on behalf of a well-established and highly respected main dealership operation in Dublin. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified technician with experience working on Volkswagen Group vehicles, particularly VW and Škoda, to join a professional and supportive workshop environment offering strong earning potential and long-term career progression.
This position would suit a motivated and detail-oriented technician who enjoys diagnostics, servicing, repairs, and delivering high-quality workmanship within a busy dealership environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and mechanical repairs on VW and Škoda vehicles.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using manufacturer diagnostic equipment.
- Complete warranty and recall work in line with manufacturer guidelines and dealership procedures.
- Conduct vehicle health checks and identify additional work required.
- Ensure all work is completed to high technical and safety standards.
- Accurately complete job cards, repair documentation, and workshop records.
- Work collaboratively with Service Advisors and workshop controllers to ensure smooth workflow and timely vehicle turnaround.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Stay up to date with manufacturer training, technical bulletins, and new vehicle technologies.
Requirements:
- Fully qualified Motor Vehicle Technician certification.
- Previous experience working with Volkswagen Group vehicles, ideally VW and/or Škoda.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability.
- Experience using dealer management and diagnostic systems.
- HV (High Voltage) and diagnostic certification would be a distinct advantage.
- Full, valid, and current driver’s licence.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to exacting standards.
- Strong communication skills and good written and spoken English.
- A positive attitude with a flexible and team-focused approach.
- Ability to work effectively in a busy workshop environment.
