Orange Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Automotive Technician on behalf of a well-established and highly respected main dealership operation in Dublin. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified technician with experience working on Volkswagen Group vehicles, particularly VW and Škoda, to join a professional and supportive workshop environment offering strong earning potential and long-term career progression.

This position would suit a motivated and detail-oriented technician who enjoys diagnostics, servicing, repairs, and delivering high-quality workmanship within a busy dealership environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and mechanical repairs on VW and Škoda vehicles.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using manufacturer diagnostic equipment.
  • Complete warranty and recall work in line with manufacturer guidelines and dealership procedures.
  • Conduct vehicle health checks and identify additional work required.
  • Ensure all work is completed to high technical and safety standards.
  • Accurately complete job cards, repair documentation, and workshop records.
  • Work collaboratively with Service Advisors and workshop controllers to ensure smooth workflow and timely vehicle turnaround.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
  • Stay up to date with manufacturer training, technical bulletins, and new vehicle technologies.

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified Motor Vehicle Technician certification.
  • Previous experience working with Volkswagen Group vehicles, ideally VW and/or Škoda.
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability.
  • Experience using dealer management and diagnostic systems.
  • HV (High Voltage) and diagnostic certification would be a distinct advantage.
  • Full, valid, and current driver’s licence.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to exacting standards.
  • Strong communication skills and good written and spoken English.
  • A positive attitude with a flexible and team-focused approach.
  • Ability to work effectively in a busy workshop environment.
