Orange Recruitment are looking for an experienced engineering leader to join a large-scale manufacturing operation in a key site leadership position focused on equipment reliability, operational performance and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will play a central role in keeping operations running efficiently while helping shape long-term engineering and maintenance strategy across the site. This is a highly visible role offering strong long-term stability, excellent career progression and the opportunity to make a real impact within a growing industrial operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading maintenance and engineering activities across the site to ensure maximum equipment uptime and operational efficiency
  • Developing proactive maintenance strategies focused on reliability, performance and reduced downtime
  • Managing and mentoring maintenance technicians and engineering support teams
  • Driving preventative and predictive maintenance initiatives across plant equipment and infrastructure
  • Supporting breakdown response, fault diagnosis and root cause investigations
  • Identifying opportunities to improve plant reliability, maintenance performance and operational output
  • Managing maintenance planning, spare parts control and contractor coordination
  • Supporting engineering improvement projects and equipment upgrades
  • Monitoring maintenance KPIs, downtime trends and reliability metrics
  • Ensuring all engineering activities are completed in line with safety, compliance and operational standards
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance and production operations

Ideal Background:

  • Previous experience leading maintenance or engineering operations within manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Strong technical understanding of mechanical, electrical and production systems
  • Experience managing technical teams within fast-paced operational environments
  • Strong preventative maintenance and equipment reliability knowledge
  • Experience using CMMS and maintenance planning systems
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills
  • Hands-on approach with strong problem-solving capability
  • Engineering qualification, apprenticeship or relevant technical background advantageous
