Orange recruitment has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Technical Services Manager to join a major pharmaceutical operation based in Kilkenny. This is a key site leadership role responsible for overseeing maintenance, engineering and technical services activities across a highly regulated manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will play an important role in driving equipment reliability, compliance, operational performance and continuous improvement across critical site infrastructure and utilities.

This position would suit someone with a strong electrical, mechanical, automation or facilities background who enjoys leading technical teams within fast-paced pharmaceutical, medical device or industrial manufacturing environments.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Leading site maintenance, engineering and technical service operations
  • Ensuring all activities are completed in line with regulatory, compliance and safety standards
  • Managing preventative maintenance programmes to maximise equipment uptime and reliability
  • Coordinating maintenance schedules and supporting operational continuity across critical utilities and systems
  • Supervising internal technical teams and managing specialist contractors on-site
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability and operational efficiency
  • Supporting equipment modifications, technical upgrades and change management activities
  • Monitoring operational KPIs and identifying opportunities for process and performance improvement
  • Supporting fault-finding, breakdown response and technical escalation activities when required
  • Participating in operational review meetings and representing technical services across site operations
  • Maintaining high standards across safety, compliance and documentation processes

Ideal Background:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within technical services, maintenance leadership or engineering operations roles
  • Trade qualification, diploma or technical certification in Electrical, Mechanical, Automation or related discipline
  • Previous experience within pharmaceutical, medical device, manufacturing or regulated environments highly desirable
  • Strong leadership and people management capability
  • Experience managing preventative maintenance systems and contractor coordination
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Good understanding of compliance, safety and operational best practice
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems
  • Self-motivated with a proactive and solutions-focused approach
  • Flexibility to support emergency callouts when required
