Orange Recruitment are now sourcing an experienced Engineering & Asset Care Manager to join a major pharmaceutical operation based in Carrigtwohill, Co. Cork.

This is a senior site-based role suited to someone with strong maintenance leadership experience within manufacturing, pharmaceutical, industrial or regulated environments. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, operational continuity and continuous improvement across a busy production facility. The position offers long-term stability, strong career progression and the opportunity to lead a high-performing technical team within a well-established and growing operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading all maintenance and asset care activities across the facility
  • Developing and implementing proactive maintenance strategies to maximise equipment uptime and operational efficiency
  • Managing preventative, predictive and reactive maintenance schedules across plant equipment and site systems
  • Supporting equipment reliability and driving continuous improvement initiatives across operations
  • Leading, mentoring and developing a team of maintenance technicians and engineering personnel
  • Ensuring all maintenance activities are completed in line with safety standards, compliance requirements and company procedures
  • Managing CMMS systems and maintenance planning activities
  • Overseeing spare parts, tooling and contractor coordination to minimise downtime and operational disruption
  • Supporting root cause analysis investigations and implementing corrective actions to improve reliability
  • Managing maintenance budgets, supplier relationships and external service providers
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance documentation and supporting audit/compliance requirements
  • Providing operational performance reporting and updates to senior management teams

Ideal Background:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within a maintenance leadership or engineering management role
  • Previous experience within pharmaceutical, manufacturing, industrial, food production or regulated environments highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Experience managing technical teams and coordinating maintenance projects
  • Good knowledge of preventative maintenance systems and CMMS platforms
  • Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Engineering qualification or relevant technical background advantageous
  • Experience driving equipment reliability and operational improvement initiatives
  • Flexibility to support operational requirements and occasional on-call activity
