Orange Recruitment is currently hiring a skilled and experienced Senior HVAC & Building Services Technician to support the maintenance and operation of critical building services across multiple client sites in Dublin.
This is an excellent opportunity for a well-rounded technician looking to work in a dynamic facilities environment, with exposure to a wide range of systems and the chance to take ownership of both maintenance and improvement works. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring all plant and equipment operate safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across a diverse portfolio of mechanical and electrical building services systems
- Service, fault-find, and maintain HVAC systems including air handling units, split systems, chillers, and ventilation equipment
- Respond to reactive maintenance requests in a timely manner, working closely with the service desk to meet agreed service levels
- Support and coordinate subcontractors on-site, ensuring works are completed to required standards
- Work independently with a proactive approach, demonstrating initiative and commitment to continuous improvement
- Complete all required training as directed by the M&E Manager within agreed timeframes
- Ensure all maintenance documentation is accurately completed, signed off, and recorded
- Assist with quotations, pricing, and procurement of parts and services when required
- Maintain accurate records within the CAFM system to support effective asset tracking and reporting
- Contribute to service improvements and uphold best practice standards across all sites
- Support minor works, site changes, and project activities in collaboration with the M&E Manager
- Provide accurate operational data to support reporting and performance monitoring
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations and all relevant technical legislation
- Report any incidents, hazards, or irregularities on-site promptly
- Participate in an on-call rota to provide out-of-hours support when required
Requirements:
- Refrigeration Craft Certificate and F-Gas Certification (City & Guilds 2009 Category 1)
- Formal training and certification in servicing air conditioning systems and air handling units
- Proven experience working on large-scale chillers and complex HVAC systems
- Strong technical knowledge of AHUs, ventilation systems, controls, and associated components
- Solid understanding of heating systems, including LPHW and CHW, with strong plumbing/pipefitting skills
- Full, clean driving licence
- Valid Safe Pass certification
- RGI qualification and experience working with oil and gas boilers (domestic and commercial) is advantageous
- Post-apprenticeship experience within a building services or facilities maintenance environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
