Job description

Orange recruitment are now looking to hire Health & Safety Advisors to support our clients large utilities operation. This is a hybrid role with a mix of site visits and remote working. You’ll spend your time between home and visiting active sites, working closely with teams on the ground to maintain and improve safety standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out site inspections and audits across contractors, local authorities, and operational sites
  • Investigating incidents and reporting on findings, helping to drive improvements
  • Supporting safety initiatives such as toolbox talks, alerts, and ongoing campaigns
  • Working with teams to promote a strong, practical safety culture
  • Tracking incidents and identifying trends to help prevent future issues
  • Providing guidance and support to staff and contractors on health & safety requirements
  • Assisting with risk assessments and ensuring compliance with current regulations
  • Getting involved in project stages, including pre-handover inspections and design input from a safety perspective

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification in Health & Safety
  • Around 3+ years’ experience in a similar role (utilities, construction, or related sector)
  • Experience carrying out site inspections and audits
  • Strong communication skills and a practical, hands-on approach
  • Good IT skills, particularly Excel
  • Full driving licence and access to a car
  • Experience in water or wastewater is a plus, but not essential.
