Occupational Health Nurse (On-Site)

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Occupational Health Nurse to join our on-site Occupational Health team supporting a corporate client in Dublin. The successful candidate will deliver a comprehensive occupational health service focused on employee wellbeing, health surveillance, and workplace safety.
This role involves working closely with employees, management, HR, and external health professionals to support a safe and healthy working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with HR, management, health & safety teams, and external professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Provide a high-quality occupational health service to employees on site.
- Conduct health surveillance programmes in line with regulatory and organisational requirements.
- Manage case management referrals, including sickness absence management and return-to-work assessments.
- Conduct return-to-work and fitness-for-work assessments.
- Manage and support work-related incidents and accident investigations.
- Provide VDU ergonomic assessments and workplace health advice.
- Support workplace risk management and health promotion initiatives.
- Coordinate and manage on-site vaccination programmes.
- Provide clinical assessments and health monitoring as required.
- Liaise with external healthcare providers when specialist services are required.
- Develop and deliver health and wellbeing initiatives for employees.
- Support workplace wellbeing campaigns and education programmes.
- Maintain occupational health policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Ensure accurate clinical record keeping and data management.
- Coordinate and manage relationships with external occupational health providers.
- Work collaboratively with HR, management, health & safety teams, and external professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Education & Experience
Candidates must:
- Be registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses with An Bord Altranais / Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Hold a recognised qualification in Occupational Health Nursing.
- Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in an Occupational Health setting within a commercial or corporate environment.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong clinical assessment and case management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Professional, confident, and motivated with sound decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ideally hold current certifications in:
- Irish Heart Foundation BLS Healthcare Provider or
- PHECC First Aid Responder (FAR)
- Audiometry
- Spirometry
- Phlebotomy
- Experience delivering health surveillance programmes in corporate settings.
- Experience managing occupational health vaccination programmes.
- Strong knowledge of Irish occupational health legislation and workplace health standards.
