Orange Recruitment have partnered with a leading provider of critical cooling solutions for mission-critical environments and is seeking an experienced HVAC Project Manager to support the delivery of complex data centre projects across the EMEA region. This HVAC Project Manager role is suited to a highly organised professional with strong technical awareness and a proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders through the full project lifecycle.
Reporting to the Projects Director, the successful HVAC Project Manager will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, on budget, and in line with contractual and technical requirements. The successful HVAC Project Manager will need experience within data centre construction, mechanical services, or HVAC-led projects.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the main point of contact throughout design development, manufacture, delivery, and site execution for assigned projects
- Take full ownership of day-to-day project delivery, including client liaison and internal coordination
- Develop, maintain, and execute detailed project plans aligned with contractual obligations and client expectations
- Prepare, manage, and maintain all project management documentation and records
- Support design and document control teams in the preparation and submission of technical documentation and submittals
- Monitor project programmes, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring adherence to agreed schedules
- Ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets and financial forecasts
- Maintain compliance with project specifications, contractual terms, and approved procedures
- Manage and coordinate site-based technical teams and subcontractors throughout installation and commissioning phases
- Produce and control all health and safety documentation related to site activities
- Oversee the compilation and handover of post-production documentation, including as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and spare parts information
- Coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, internal departments, and external partners
- Lead and organise factory acceptance testing and client witnessing activities
- Manage change control processes, including variations and change orders
- Attend project meetings with clients and third parties, both on site and remotely
- Provide regular progress, commercial, and risk reports to senior management
- Travel to project sites as required
- Proactively resolve issues and escalate risks where necessary
- Support finance teams with commercial and cost-related matters when required
- Communicate complex or sensitive information clearly and professionally
- Maintain a strong understanding of project financials, including revenue, margins, and cost-to-completion forecasts
Requirements:
- Formal qualification in project management, engineering, or a related discipline, or demonstrable equivalent experience
- Proven experience delivering projects within a construction, mechanical, or M&E environment, ideally within the data centre sector
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC and air handling systems
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- High standard of written and verbal communication
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software
- Experience with Procore and/or BIM360 advantageous but not essential
- Ability to work effectively within cross-functional and site-based teams
- Health & Safety supervisory or management qualification (SSSTS / SMSTS) desirable
- Confident handling difficult conversations and managing stakeholder expect
