Orange Recruitment have partnered with a Tier 1 Irish construction company delivering some of the country’s most recognisable and technically demanding projects. From large-scale commercial developments to complex residential and public works, their projects consistently meet the highest standards of design, sustainability, and delivery.

They are now seeking an Estimator to join their commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and wants to contribute to the successful tendering of landmark projects.

Responsibilities

  • Manage estimating projects as directed by the Commercial Director and Senior Estimator.
  • Prepare and maintain subcontractor and supplier databases, ensuring accurate tender tracking.
  • Issue tender documentation and coordinate subcontractor responses.
  • Review and interpret tender drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities to ensure precise cost assessments.
  • Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive quotations.
  • Evaluate alternative materials or construction methods to achieve best value.
  • Manage RFI processes and distribute information to relevant parties.
  • Analyse key subcontractor packages and prepare value engineering proposals.
  • Compile and finalise tender summaries, cost breakdowns, and supporting documentation.
  • Assist in preparing final tender submissions and presentations.

Requirements

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline (trade background also considered).
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an estimating role within a construction environment.
  • Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • A collaborative mindset with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
