Site Engineer

Orange Recruitment is currently looking to recruit a Site Engineer for a key project based in the Cork region. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a few years’ solid experience to take on a hands-on, site-based role with strong support from senior management. The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Manager and wider site team to ensure all engineering aspects of the job are delivered efficiently, accurately, and in line with the required specifications and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

• Accurate setting out and surveying from construction drawings and specifications
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings, plans, and schedules
• Coordinating with subcontractors and general operatives on site to ensure works are delivered to plan
• Planning and sequencing works in line with project timelines and targets
• Attending site meetings and liaising with design teams, consultants, and client representatives
• Monitoring and enforcing Health & Safety best practices across all site activities
• Ensuring high-quality workmanship is maintained throughout the build
• Assisting with material orders and ensuring timely delivery of resources
• Keeping clear and up-to-date site records, including as-built drawings and QA documentation

Requirements:

• A degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline
• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a similar site-based engineering role
• Comfortable with setting out, surveying, and interpreting construction drawings
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work well as part of a busy site team
• Self-driven with a focus on safety, quality, and meeting deadlines
• Proficiency in relevant IT tools and engineering software
• Full, clean driving licence
