Orange Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to take the lead on a major construction project for our client based in Cork. This is a key leadership role for someone who can oversee delivery from pre-construction right through to handover, managing programme, budget, quality, and safety across all phases of the build. The project pipeline includes upcoming works across a variety of sectors including pharmaceutical, life sciences, food & beverage, and commercial builds. You’ll be joining a strong team within an organisation that values structure, quality, and collaborative project delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the project team to ensure work is delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standards of quality
- Work closely with clients, consultants, design teams, and subcontractors to maintain clear communication and effective working relationships throughout the build
- Take ownership of the programme, ensuring sequencing of works is aligned with project goals and key deadlines
- Oversee all site-based activities, promoting a strong culture of safety, wellbeing, and compliance at every level
- Work with commercial teams to manage cost control, valuations, subcontractor procurement, and reporting
- Ensure all works meet required regulatory, design, and certification standards
- Chair regular project meetings with the internal team and stakeholders to monitor progress and manage issues as they arise
- Lead value engineering and product development discussions, where appropriate
- Ensure all reporting, from progress reports to commercial forecasts is accurate, timely, and transparent
- Represent the company at client, consultant, and design coordination meetings, providing regular updates and feedback
Requirements:
- A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or similar discipline
- 7+ years’ experience in a project management role within the construction sector
- Proven track record in delivering complex commercial or industrial builds, ideally in pharma or life sciences
- Strong understanding of construction methods, building regulations, and industry standards
- Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to drive performance on site
- Clear and confident communicator, both written and verbal, with strong presentation and reporting abilities
- Commercially aware with good negotiation skills and understanding of procurement processes
- Competent IT user with solid knowledge of Microsoft Office and project planning tools
- Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently while leading a wider team
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset, someone who brings out the best in those around them
